Austin Chess Club

The Austin Chess Club meets on Saturday afternoons, 3:00pm-9:00pm. Attendance is open to anyone wishing to meet others and play casual chess games in person. We have separate skittles (casual chess) and tournament play rooms, so we run a rated tournament at the same time as hosting casual play.

Participation in our United States Chess Federation (USCF) rated tournaments requires USCF membership and an entry fee.

Please Note: Make certain your USCF membership is current before a tournament starts else you might be turned away! Having memberships up to date really helps when things get busy. Also note that your membership should be active when the event is rated a day or three after it is completed.

If you cannot attend a round for our standard multi-week swisses, please send email to austinchessclub@gmail.com before 11:00am the day of the round (earlier notification is always welcome!). No-shows do not cause us to re-pair, so it's important you let us know; if you do not, a player is left without an opponent for that round. Your fellow club members thank you for your consideration!

	Finding the club Click for picture of area. FIND THE ENTRANCE: Enter the front parking lot of the school via Luther Lane (green line on photo). When facing the main entrance, go to the right side of the building. Enter the door/gate (marked on photo by green dot); go up the stairs to enter via the door, follow the hallway until you find lit classrooms. The casual play (skittles) room is the furthest down the hall. Additional parking may be found at: St. Paul Lutheran Church parking lot (marked by a blue blotch) Sabina Apartments (underground?) parking, open to the public Soda / chips / candy available, $0.75 Please, no alcohol allowed on premises.
March 23, 30, April 6, 13	ACC USCF-rated G/90 Standard Swiss Note:This event lasts 4 weeks, 1 game per week. Game in 90 minutes with 30 sec. increment per move.
April 20	ACC USCF Quick-rated G/24 Swiss Four round Swiss System tournament, sections dependent upon turnout. Game in 24 minutes, 5 sec. delay per move.
April 27	CLUB CLOSED! See you May 4th!
May 4, 11, 18, 25	ACC USCF-rated G/90 Standard Swiss Note:This event lasts 4 weeks, 1 game per week. Game in 90 minutes with 30 sec. increment per move. EF: $20.00 USCF membership required, must not expire before (the end of) 05/24, please renew before entering, thanks! Online entry available here.
