• Each Full club membership is $30.00 per year (no distinction between adult / junior / senior memberships).
• The Club also offers a 3-month Trial membership for $15.00, which may be upgraded to a Full membership for $15.00 (upgrade only valid during the term of the Trial membership).
• A family member of a current Full Club member may obtain a Family membership at $15.00 per year (with the same privileges as a Full membership). Note: family members must live at the same address to qualify.
• The Club also offers 1-month Free Trial memberships to newcomers to the club. During the Free Trial period, participants may take advantage of Club services, all at Member prices! One Free Trial per person.
• Non-members playing in a Club Standard event will pay a $10.00 surcharge for their entry fee to the event. All surcharges collected will go towards defraying Club expenses, and do not apply towards prizes.
• Newcomers to the club are allowed one free visit; after that, they are expected to apply for official membership. Note: non-playing parents / guardians of players under-14 are exempt.
• The Club will retain 50% of all normal entry fees collected and use this money to defray Club expenses. The other 50% of entry fees will be returned as prizes.
• The Austin Chess Club is a private club. Membership is by invitiation from the Club Officers.
• The Club Officers reserve the right to refuse or cancel membership to any person who behaves inappropriately at a club meeting or event. In this case, the paid dues of the member in question will be returned on a pro-rated basis, rounded down to the nearest month.
• Please note: the Club Officers are volunteers; we do not receive any sort of stipend, pay, etc. All monies collected by the Club are used to pay the rent, pay for Austin Chess Club events (prizes, rating fees, USCF affiliate fees, etc.) and support chess-related activities sponsored by the Austin Chess Club..
