Austin Chess Club

The Austin Chess Club meets on Saturday afternoons, 3:00pm-9:00pm. Attendance is open to anyone wishing to meet others and play casual chess games in person. We have separate skittles (casual chess) and tournament play rooms, so we run a rated tournament at the same time as hosting casual play.

Participation in our United States Chess Federation (USCF) rated tournaments requires USCF membership and an entry fee.

Please Note: Make certain your USCF membership is current before a tournament starts else you might be turned away! Having memberships up to date really helps when things get busy.

If you cannot attend a round for our standard multi-week swisses, please send email to austinchessclub@gmail.com before 11:00am the day of the round (earlier notification is always welcome!). No-shows do not cause us to re-pair, so it's important you let us know; if you do not, a player is left without an opponent for that round. Your fellow club members thank you for your consideration!

	Finding the club Click for picture of area. FIND THE ENTRANCE: Enter the front parking lot of the school via Luther Lane (green line on photo). When facing the main entrance, go to the right side of the building. Find the elevator outside the building (marked on photo by green dot); go up the stairs to enter via the door, follow the hallway until you find lit classrooms. Additional parking may be found at: St. Paul Lutheran Church parking lot (marked by a blue blotch) Sabina Apartments (underground?) parking, open to the public Soda / chips / candy available, $0.75 Please, no alcohol allowed on premises.
September 16, 23, 30	ACC USCF-rated G/90 Standard Swiss One round per week for three weeks, not three separate events! Three rounds, sections dependent upon turnout. Game in 90 minutes, 30 second increment per move.
October 7	ACC USCF Quick-Rated G/24 Swiss Four round Quick-rated Swiss System. Sections dependent upon turnout. Game in 24 minutes, 5 second delay per move. EF: $15.00 USCF membership required, please renew before entering, thanks! Online entry available here.
